For Annex 1B, everything remains unchanged.<br\/><br\/><strong>What does this mean?<\/strong><br\/>Starting May 21, 2026, DIWASS will be fully operational, but companies may continue to follow their current procedures for Annex VII until January 1, 2027.<\/em><br\/><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<p>18\/02\/2026<\/p>\n\n<p>From May 21, 2026, DIWASS will be mandatory for cross-border waste transport in the EU.<em> <\/em>In a previous <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pionira.be\/wat-is-diwass-de-nieuwe-waste-shipment-regulation\/\">article<\/a>, we already took a closer look at DIWASS and what it exactly entails. But how can you best prepare for the upcoming regulations? And what exactly changes for you?  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is DIWASS?<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>DIWASS<\/strong> (digital waste tracking system) is the <strong>central European system<\/strong> for the <strong>registration of waste shipments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>digital registration<\/strong> applies to every <strong>cross-border waste shipment<\/strong>, for both:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Green-listed waste (Annex VII)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Amber-listed waste (Annex IB)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Shipments that take place exclusively <strong>within the territory of one of the Member States<\/strong> do <strong>not need to be reported via DIWASS<\/strong>. Both procedures must be handled <strong>digitally<\/strong> as of May 21, 2026.
